Hierarchy Level


Configure the maximum number of bytes allowed for incoming traffic to burst above the committed information rate and still be marked with medium-high packet loss priority (yellow). Packets that exceed the excess burst size (EBS) are marked with high packet loss priority (red).


When you include the excess-burst-size statement in the configuration, you must also include the committed-burst-size and committed-information-rate statements at the same hierarchy level.


bytes—Number of bytes. You can specify a value in bytes either as a complete decimal number or as a decimal number followed by the abbreviation k (1000), (1,000,000), or g (1,000,000,000).

  • Range: 512 bytes through 268435456  bytes (268 MB)
