Securing GTP and SCTP Traffic

  • One-to-many style Socket Kernel Infra support in SCTP (MX2010, MX2020, MX10004, MX10008, and MX10016)—Starting from Junos OS Release 23.4R1, we now support the one-to-many style interface within the existing L4 SCTP protocol. This enhancement enables a single local SCTP endpoint to establish multiple associations with multiple peer SCTP endpoints. Each peer SCTP endpoint forms a unique association, enabling seamless communication. This enhancement is similar to a typical TCP socket but with the ability to connect to multiple endpoints simultaneously. Unlike TCP, SCTP endpoints can be bound to multiple transport addresses and ports, offering high availability through the multihoming feature in SCTP. This feature ensures robust communication and enhances the availability of SCTP associations.
