Network Management and Monitoring

  • Support for ephemeral database cyclic versioning and resizing (PTX10001-36MR, PTX10003, PTX10004, PTX10008, PTX10016, QFX5130-32CD, and QFX5220)—Starting in Junos OS Evolved Release 23.2R1, Junos devices implement cyclic versioning and database resizing to more effectively manage the space used by the ephemeral configuration database. The cyclic version value defines the number of versions of an ephemeral database for which the system stores deleted configuration objects. During a commit operation, the system reclaims the space occupied by objects deleted in the previous database version relative to the current database version as determined by the cyclic version value. You can also configure the device to resize the database when its size exceeds certain thresholds. With effective space management, you can prevent the database from hitting the maximum database size and improve performance by reducing database fragmentation.

  • SNMP support for PFC, ECN, and CoS ingress packet drop accounting (QFX5220)—Junos OS Evolved Release 23.2R1 introduces SNMP support that helps to account for the packets that are dropped because of ingress port congestion. You can view and export the error counters data for explicit congestion notification (ECN), ingress drops, and priority-based flow control (PFC) using the following commands:

    • show snmp mib walk ifJnxTable

    • show snmp mib walk jnxCosPfcPriorityTable.

[See SNMP MIBs and Traps Supported by Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved and show snmp mib.]
