Authentication and Access Control

  • Remote authentication through console is not supported. Local authentication through console and remote authentication through management interface is supported. This is the expected behavior on Junos OS Evolved. PR1565251

General Routing

  • On the ACX7100-48L platforms running Junos OS Evolved, you cannot clear or reset the disk option specified in the scheduled request node reboot command. The node reboots with the disk option last specified. PR1517596

  • Many options under show Packet Forwarding Engine CLI are not yet supported, These are show commands and has no bearing on the normal functional of the product. PR1554957
  • The NMI (non maskable interrupt) is not disabled after snapshot with the USB done. If the user does not reboot the unit or enter 'reboot' at the console within 8-9 minutes, the NMI comes in as a system exception. The device eventually reboots and comes up in the expected newly install software version. This exception can be ignored. PR1555142
  • When the interface MAC of the next-hop router is changed, the device connected to the next hop updates all the routes which are associated with the given next hop. The route update is not required for this particular case due to the internal implementation. PR1564137

  • IS-IS or OSPF local and remote failure convergence time measured in ACX7100-48L is almost doubled as compared to ACX5448. PR1564279

  • Errors related to am-l2alm are seen post system coming up after reboot: errors @ [Layer2: Pil Ifbd registry client callback failed for client:am-l2alm ifbd name: and AftLog: Error!! Bad input given to logger!] seen. There is no functional impact. PR1565344

  • When inserting 40G optics which has existing link, the LED of this 40G port shows green first, then the port LED shows amber and green. This is because TX_ENABLE is set by default for this optics. When optics is out of reset after being inserted, the laser is turned on, so the port is up. Then after two seconds, laser is turned off for serdes Init, and laser is turned on after serdes init is complete. The optics module firmware cannot be changed, and the design has no issue. This must be product limit. PR1565723
  • On all Junos Evolved platforms, IRB (Integrated Routing and Bridging) physical interface might not come up for those Bridge Domains (BD) that are enabled with IGMP snooping. Issue might be seen on deactivate and activate of Bridge Domain or VLAN. PR1565842

  • When the chip is over-subscribed, there is a possibility of control packets getting dropped at NIF level. PR1568055

  • On ACX7100-48L platforms when a large amount of ARP resolutions happen on IRBs in a very short time, the ARPD process usage can shoot to 100%. This might affect ARP resolutions and ARP re-learning or refresh of existing sessions. PR1568206

  • Filter statistics do not work after deactivating the unsupported action in the egress direction. PR1568525

  • When IPV6 unicast strict-rpf is enabled, IPv6 unknown multicast packets like NS/NA and unsolicited multicast packet is dropped. Issue is not fixed in 21.1R1, the workaround is to use static NDP for every IPv6 neighbor. PR1568938

  • Route convergence time (using BGP) measured in ACX7100-48L is greater than that of ACX5448. In ACX7100-48L, the measured convergence rate is 9.61K routes/sec as compared to 26.4K routes/sec in ACX5448 for IPv4. In case of IPv6, the measured convergence rate is 9.2K routes/sec in ACX7100-48L as compared to 17.6K routes/sec in ACX5448. PR1569851

  • At the end of USB image installation, user is asked to select one of the two options presented to complete the installation:

    1. The first option "Pull out the USB stick" is working as expected.
    2. The second option "Type 'reboot' and hit <return>" is not working as expected.

After warm reboot, BIOS still selects USB as the boot device and hence triggers USB image installation again. PR1571930

  • The traffic distribution on ECMP member links is dependent on input traffic parameters, and the parameters might be polarised on a certain link hence equitable distribution might not be seen. PR1573452
  • Interface : For 4x100 channels, only 1 channel goes down if channel configuration is removed at other end. This issue happens only when the channel of one side is removed but another side is not. Normally the channel configuration must be paired. This is a minor issue. PR1577347
  • Snapshot banner message displays reboot the system from primary disk using request node reboot re disk1 command but the correct command is request node reboot re0 disk1. PR1578556
  • Occasionally, on a doubly tagged VLAN, OSPF adjacency is not fully established due to MTU mismatch error. PR1579153

  • Error Cmerror Op Set: dnxj2: test (URI: /fpc/0/evo-pfemand/0/cm/0/dnxj2/0/vendor_app_failure) is logged when packet is received with source IP equals to destinanation IP and there iPR1580558s route and ARP present for that IP address.
  • Evo-pfemand can crash on deactivating interfaces, vlans and protocols in scaled setup with ECMP routes. Traffic drop can be seen until hardware is reconfigured after crash. The issue is not fixed in 21.1R1. PR1580565
  • The request system zeroize command removes all the images other than the current image on the media on which the system has booted. It removes all images on the other media (disk2 if system booted from disk1 or disk1 if system booted from disk2). This leaves the media unbootable. PR1585285
