user (System Logging)

Syntax

Hierarchy Level

Description

Configure the logging of system messages to user terminals.

Options

* (the asterisk)—Log messages to the terminal sessions of all users who are currently logged in.

facility—Class of messages to log. To specify multiple classes, include multiple facility severity statements. For a list of the facilities, see System Logging Facilities and Message Severity Levels.

severity—Severity of the messages that belong to the facility specified by the paired facility name. Messages with severities the specified level and higher are logged. For a list of the severities, see System Logging Facilities and Message Severity Levels.

username—Junos OS login name of the user whose terminal session is to receive system log messages. To log messages to more than one user’s terminal session, include more than one user statement.
