Safe Return Material Authorization
Learn how to return a hardware component to HPE Networking.
The safe Return Material Authorization (RMA) process helps protect customer data when a defective firewall or hardware component is returned to HPE Networking for repair or replacement. Before returning a firewall as part of the Safe RMA process, you must remove or secure customer data stored on nonvolatile media in compliance with organizational security requirements. For more information, see Contact Customer Support and Return the Chassis or Components.
To remove customer data and restore the system to its factory-default state, use the
request system zeroize command. This command removes all configuration
information, customized log files, and user-created data, including plaintext passwords,
secrets, and private keys from the Routing Engine. It does not modify disk partitions or
reinstall the existing host operating system.
For more information, see request system zeroize (Junos OS Evolved).
