service-port (Inline Services)

Syntax

Hierarchy Level

Description

For MX Series 5G Universal Routing Platforms, configure the port number of the inline service interface. The range is 0 through 3.

Junos OS allows configuring inline-services at the PIC level. You can specify bandwidth for the services, with the default being 400g if not specified. It's recommended to configure the necessary bandwidth to conserve ASIC resources.

Each configuration creates four interface devices: si-1/0/0 to si-1/0/3 for inline services, along with other tunnel interface variants. To further conserve ASIC resources, you can specify a particular service port in the configuration, for example, set chassis fpc 1 pic 0 inline-services service-port 2 bandwidth bandwidth. This configuration will create only si-1/0/2 thereby limiting the creation of interfaces to those with specific port numbers.
