server (syslog)
Syntax
server { routing-instances (routing-instance-name | all | default) { disable; } }
Hierarchy Level
[edit system syslog]
Description
Enable a syslog server for a routing instance on a Junos device. This configuration allows compute nodes and virtual machines (VMs) in a connected App Engine to send log messages to it. Log messages from all compute nodes and VMs in the App Engine infrastructure are collected in one place. Note that you can enable a syslog server only when an App Engine is configured.
To send log messages from a compute node or VM to the syslog server, edit the /etc/syslog.conf file on the compute node or VM, and specify the facility, priority of the log messages, and the IP address of the management interface on the Junos device where the syslog server is enabled. See the man page for syslog.conf for more information.
