Description
Specify the routing device’s IPv6 address (routing identifier). You can explicitly set an IPv6 router ID at the global routing level and per routing instance, and operational command output now displays this value. This gives you independent control over the IPv6 router ID used by routing protocols and simplify troubleshooting by clearly exposing both IPv4 and IPv6 router identifiers in routing instance details.
You can configure IPv6 router ID under the [edit routing-instance] and
[edit routing-options] hierarchy levels.
Routing Instance Hierarchy
set routing-instances instance-name routing-options ipv6-router-id ipv6-address
Routing Options Hierarchy
set routing-options ipv6-router-id ipv6-address
When you configure these statements, the show route instance detail and
show route instance name detail commands display
an additional line as follows:
Router ID: ipv4-router-id IPV6 Router ID: ipv6-router-id
