evpn (EVPN Multicast Replication)

Syntax

Hierarchy Level

Description

Enable multicast forwarding options in an EVPN-VXLAN or EVPN-MPLS network.

The irb options enable one of the supported integrated routing and bridging multicast modes in an EVPN-VXLAN network. The available irb options are mutually exclusive. Also, only the local-remote, oism, and enhanced-oism modes support forwarding with selective multicast Ethernet tag (SMET) routes (EVPN Type 6 routes).

Options

smet-forwarding Enables selective multicast Ethernet Tag (SMET) forwarding mode in an EVPN-MPLS network.
smet-nexthop-limit smet-nexthop-limit

Configures a limit for the number of SMET next hops for selective multicast forwarding in an EVPN network. A PE device uses the SMET next hops list of outgoing interfaces to selectively replicate and forward multicast traffic. When the list of SMET next hops reaches this limit, the PE device stops adding new SMET next hops. At that point, the PE device sends new multicast group traffic to all egress devices.
