duplicate-ip-detection

Syntax

Description

Configure global duplicate IP address detection settings. You can configure duplicate IP address detection settings to detect and log duplicate IP addresses as well as configure the device's response when it dectects a duplicate IP address.

Options

action

When a duplicate IP address is detected, the device generates a syslog message and applies the following action:

  • block—Blocks the duplicate IP address. The device stops respnding to ARP/ND requests for that IP address. It also drops traffic bound for the IP address.

  • no-ip-suppression—Disables suppression for duplicate IP address. The device continues to:

    • Advertise the MAC-IP route.

    • Respond to ARP and ND requests.

    • Forward traffic destined for the IP address.

    • Generate a duplicate IP detection syslong message.

exclude-policy

Specify the policy to exclude duplicate IP address detection.

use-timestamp

The device selects the MAC-IP binding based on the arriving timestamp when a duplicate IP address is detected.
