advanced-forwarding
Syntax
advanced-forwarding
Hierarchy Level
[edit chassis interoperability]
Description
You can use the advanced-forwarding mode to configure maximum
ECMP beyond the default 128 next hops to up to 512 next hops on AFT-based
line cards. This is useful for example when you have enabled symmetric
consistent hash towards remote dynamic tunnel destinations (MPLS over
UDP).
When in advanced-forwarding mode, only AFT-based linecards are
powered on, and all UKERN-based linecards are powered off. After configuring
advanced-forwarding mode a chassis reboot is
required, because without chassis reboot the
advanced-forwarding mode will not take effect.
-
Use the
show chassis interoperabiltycommand to check if the device is inadvanced-forwardingor default mode. -
In
advanced-forwardingmode, Adaptive Load Balancing (ALB) over ECMP is not supported.
