request system software stage (Junos OS Evolved)
Syntax
request system software stage version
Description
Validate the active configuration against an installed software version and copy the validated configuration to the /data directory associated with that software version. If the validation fails, the system returns the validation errors and does not copy the configuration.
If you run the command against an activated software version, the system deactivates that version in the process of validating the configuration. Deactivation removes the next boot pointer for that version.
To install a new image but not activate it, use the request system software add
stage command instead.
