Manage Filter Rules

Read these topics to understand how to manage filter rules.

You use filter rules to control which nodes should appear on the topology map. You can edit, import, export, view results and delete a filter rule from the Topology Filter page (Management > Dynamic Topology > Topology Filter).

Edit a Filter Rule

You can edit a filter rule from the Topology Filter page. To edit a filter rule:

  1. Navigate to the Topology Filter page (Management > Dynamic Topology > Topology Filter).

  2. Select the filter rule that you want to edit by selecting the check box next to the name of the rule, and click the Edit (Pencil) icon.

    The Edit Filter Rule page appears.

  3. Make the necessary updates and click OK to save the setting.

    The Topology Filter page appears.

  4. Click the Save Changes button.

    A message is displayed confirming that the topology filter data is saved successfully.

Import a Filter Rule

You can import a filter rule (in CSV format) from the Topology Filter page. To import a filter rule:

  1. Navigate to the Topology Filter page (Management > Dynamic Topology > Topology Filter).

  2. Click More > Import Rules.

    The Import Filter Rule page appears.

    Note:

    Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

  3. Click Browse and navigate to location of the rule on your local file system.

  4. Click Open after you select the rule.

    The Import Filter Rule page appears.

  5. Click OK to import the filter rule.

    The Topology Fiter page appears and displays the newly added filter rule.

Export a Filter Rule

You can export an existing filter rule (in CSV format) from the Topology Filter page. To export a filter rule:

  1. Navigate to the Topology Filter page (Management > Dynamic Topology > Topology Filter).

  2. Select the filter rule that you want to export by clicking the check box next to the name of the rule.

  3. Click More > Export Rules.

    The filter rule is downloaded and saved in your local file system.

Delete a Filter Rule

You can delete a filter rule from the Topology Filter page. To delete a filter rule:

  1. Navigate to the Topology Filter page (Management > Dynamic Topology > Topology Filter).

  2. Select the filter rule that you want to delete by selecting the check box next to the name of the rule, and click the Delete (Dustbin) icon.

    The Confirm Delete page appears.

  3. Click Yes to delete the filter rule.

    The rule is deleted and removed from the Filter Rules table.
