Add Access Control Policy Skeletons

An access control policy skeleton is a template that you can use as a starting point to create new policies. You can reuse the policy skeleton to create new policies and form a policy pool of frequently used policies. Use the examples in Access Control Policies and Skeletons Overview for guidance on creating policy skeletons.

Routing Director provides ten default policy skeletons. In addition, you can create your policy skeletons. The default policy skeletons cannot be edited or deleted.

To create a policy skeleton:

  1. Click Settings Menu > Control Profiles.

The Access Control Profiles page appears.

  2. On the Policy Skeletons tab, click the + (Add) icon.
The Add Policy Skeleton page appears.
  3. Define the policy skeleton in the JSON format.

The following is a sample of the policy skeleton for matching devices with tags region:US and department:IT:

  4. Click OK.

A message indicating that the policy skeleton is created successfully appears and the policy skeleton is listed on the Access Control Profiles page.
