Add Access Control Profiles

Use this topic to add access control profiles to Routing Director.

Before you add access control profiles, you should have assigned tags to resources that you want to restrict access to.

To add an access control profile:

  1. Click Settings Menu > Control Profiles.

    The Access Control Profiles page appears.

  2. Click the + (Add) icon.
    The Add Control Profile page appears.
  3. Enter values referring to table.
  4. Click Save.

    A message indicating that the control profile is created appears and the control profile is listed on the Access Control Profiles page.

Field

Description

Name

Enter a name for the access control profile. For example, allow-apac

The profile name must be unique within an organization and can include any type of character but must not exceed the 64-character limit.

Description

Enter a description for the control profile. For example, Profile to access resources in the APAC region.

Version

The version of control profile. This field is read-only in this release.

Reference

Enter a reference associated with the access control profile. For example, a ticket number for which the access control profile is being created or modified.

Comment

Enter a comment for the access control profile; for example, a comment entered when editing the profile.

Effect

Select the effect of the profile. Possible values:

  • Allow—The profile, when applied to a user, allows the user access to resources defined in the profile policies.

  • Deny—The profile, when applied to a user, denies the user access to resources defined in the profile policies.

Policies

Displays policies added to the profile.

To add policies to the profile:

  1. Click Manage Policies.

    The Manage Policy page appears. The Manage Policy page displays all policies available in the Routing Director policy pool. If a suitable policy is not available, add it to the policy pool, and then include it in the profile. See Add an Access Control Profile Policy for details.

  2. Select the required policies and click OK.

    The Manage Policy page closes and the selected policies are listed in the Policy table.

To view the details of a policy, select the policy and click More > Details. The Policy Details page displays the policy in JSON format.

To delete a policy from the profile:

  1. Click Manage Policies.

    The Manage Policy page appears.

  2. Select the policies to be removed from the profile and click OK.

    The Manage Policy page closes and the selected policies are not listed in the Policy table.
