Edit threshold values—To edit the threshold values (also referred to as rule variable) for a specific rule, enter the threshold value in the respective Variables field, and click Approve to save the value.
Note:-
If the Variables field is empty, then the recommended threshold value provided by the Observability Recommendation Engine is considered. You can view this value in the Recommended tag under the respective Variables field. This is only applicable to system KPIs.
-
If you edit a threshold value, then the updated threshold value takes effect from the next data point that is received from the device.

Edit interface rule variables—Observability Recommendation Engine analyzes the device configurations, identifies which interfaces are core facing interfaces, and automatically tags the interfaces with the role:core tag. By default, the Observability Recommendation Engine only monitors the interfaces that it detects as core facing interfaces. You can view the recommended core interfaces in the Recommended tag under the interface name variable.
Note: Observability Recommendation Engine generates recommended variable values for interfaces from the list of list of interfaces that are tagged with the role:core tag. If you do not specify an interface value, Observability Recommendation Engine generates the list of interfaces that must be monitored, and tags them automatically. If you want to monitor additional interfaces:
-
Modify the value of the interface name variable.
-
Tag the interface that needs to be monitored with the tag role:core. For more information, see About the Interfaces Tab.
Note: We do not recommend to modify the role:core tag.
