About the Working Models Page
To access the Working Models page, select Planning > Networks > Offline Models.
This page lists the offline versions of your live network (also called as network models) so that you can make changes to the network model and forecast the impact of the changes, without impacting the live network.
Use this page for offline visualization and detailed architectural planning of your production (live) network. You can create an offline network, generate a graphical view of the network, simulate failure scenarios, and view reports.
Tasks You Can Perform
-
View the list of network models that have been uploaded or imported.
-
Generate a topology map of a model—To generate the topology map of a model, select the model and click the Open button. You can view the topology map. For more information, see About the Offline Topology Page.
-
Simulate error scenarios—Simulate failure scenarios in the network and to see how your network reacts, select the network model and click the Simulation button. For information, see Exhaustive Failure Simulation.
-
View Reports—To understand how your network reacted to a failure scenario, click the Reports button. For more information, see View Reports.
-
Save a network model—To save a network model or changes made to the network model, click More > Save Model. This is required for failure simulation to consider the latest changes in the model.
-
Export a model—To export a model to your local system, click More > Export. The file is saved to your local system.
-
View statistic files—You can view the list of statistic files that are collected over a period of time and can be loaded to your network model. To view the list of statistic files, select a working model and click More > View Stats. For more information, see About the View Stats Page
-
Add tags—You can use tags to organize and group working models. A tag is a label in the key:value format. These tags enable faster identification of related working models.
You can add one or more tags to a working model on the Working Models page (Planning > Networks > Offline Models).
To add one or more tags to a working model:
Select a working model and click More > Manage Tags.
The Manage Tags page appears.
In the Tags field, select a tag to be applied from the drop-down list.
Alternatively, you can also create a new tag by clicking the Create New Tag + link at the bottom of the page and apply the new tag. If you are creating a new tag, ensure that:
The key starts with a letter and is followed by letters, numbers, periods (.), hyphens (-), or underscores (_), and is between 1 and 200 characters long.
The value includes alphanumeric characters, periods (.), hyphens (-), and underscores (_), and is between 1 and 200 characters long
Click Ok.
You can view all the tags applied to a working model in the Tags column of the Working Models page.
-
Create a model—To upload the JSON or. gz format file of the live network from your local system or to import a live network, click the + icon. For more information see Create a Network Model.
-
Edit a network model—To edit the already-imported network model, select the network model and click the edit icon (pencil).
If you are editing a network model that is imported from a live network, then you can modify or stop the existing statistics collection.
If you are editing a network model that is imported from a JSON file, then you can upload a new JSON file that has appended or modified configurations.
-
You can also perform the following tasks on this page:
-
Sort, resize, or re-arrange columns in a table (grid).
-
Show or hide columns in the table or reset page preferences, using the vertical ellipsis menu.
-
Search by using keywords—Click the search icon (magnifying glass), enter the search term in the text box, and press Enter. The search results are displayed on the same page.
-
Filter the data displayed in the table—Click the filter icon (funnel) and select whether you want to show or hide advanced filters. You can then add or remove filter criteria, save criteria as a filter, apply or clear filters, and so on. The filtered results are displayed on the same page.
-
Set the number of rows (15, 30, 50, or 100) to be displayed in the table in the Display drop-down list provided at the bottom right-corner of the table. If there are multiple pages of rows, use the arrow heads to traverse through the pages or enter a page number to view the entries listed on that page.
