About the Tunnel Tab (Planner)

On the Tunnels tab of the network table (Planning > Networks > Offline Models > Model-Name > Open), view the information about label-switched paths (LSPs) in your offline network.

Tasks You Can Perform

You can perform the following tasks on the Tunnels tab:

  • View tunnel traffic—You can view the historical data for tunnel traffic. To view tunnel traffic, select one or more tunnels from the list and click View > Tunnel Traffic. The tunnel traffic page appears. On this page, you can view a graphical representation of tunnel traffic that has been collected over a period. This historical data provides you valuable insights into past trends and patterns.

    Click the pin icon to pin the page anywhere on the screen so that you can continuously monitor the historic data.

    Note: For Routing Director to display the tunnel traffic graph, you must have imported a production network along with data. Also, ensure that you have loaded an interface statistic file from the View Stats page (Planning > Networks > Offline Models > Model-Name > More > View Stats).   • Download—To download tunnels-related data to your local system, click Download. The data is downloaded to your local system as a comma-separated values (CSV) file.

  • From the More list, you can perform the following tasks:

    • View details of a tunnel—To view the details of a tunnel, you can do one of the following:

      • Select a tunnel on the table and click More > Show Details.

      • Hover over a tunnel row in the table and click the Details icon.

      The Tunnel - Tunnel-Name page appears.

    • Add tunnels to the network model—Click + to add new tunnels. For more information see Create a Tunnel (Planner).

    • Reload—To view the latest changes in the network table, click Reload.

  • To perform common actions such as filtering using advanced filter criteria and resetting preferences, see Network Table Overview.

Column Description

Name

Displays the name of the tunnel.

Device A

Displays the ingress device of the tunnel at which traffic enters.

Device Z

Displays the egress device of the tunnel at which traffic exits.

IP A

Displays the IPv4 address of Device A.

IP Z

Displays the IPv4 address of Device Z.

Bandwidth

Displays the signaled or reserved bandwidth (bps) associated with the tunnel.

Admin Group Include All

Displays one or more admin group bits for the tunnel. The tunnel traverses links that include all of the admin groups listed here.

Admin Group Include Any

Displays one or more admin group bits for the tunnel. The tunnel traverses links that include at least one of the admin groups listed here.

Admin Group Exclude

Displays one or more admin group bits for the tunnel. The tunnel traverses links that do not include any of the admin groups

Path Type

Displays the type of LSP path—primary, secondary, or standby.

Path Name

Displays the user-defined name of the LSP path.

Setup

Displays the setup priority of the LSP. The setup priority ranges from 0 (highest) through 7 (lowest).

Hold

Displays the RSVP hold priority for the tunnel traffic. The hold priority ranges from 0 (highest) through 7 (lowest).

Current Path Displays the current path that the LSP traverses. It is represented as an ordered list of hops with link IP addresses or router/node IDs.

If you have imported a Segment Routed (SR) LSP through a JSON file, then the current path will be empty.

Required Path Displays the required path that the LSP traverses.

It is represented as an ordered list of hops with link IP addresses or router/node IDs. This information is derived from the Routing Path Type configured at the time of LSP creation , or from the LSP collectedProperties.ero attribute if you are importing from file (config collection).

When you perform the Update Models and Path operation, Routing Director considers only the required path if an LSP has both required path and preferred path.

Preferred Path Displays the preferred path that the LSP traverses.

It is represented as an ordered list of hops with link IP addresses or router/node IDs. If you are importing from the live network, this information is derived from the Routing Path Type configured at the time of LSP creation. If you are importing from file (config collection), the Preferred path will be empty.

When you perform the Update Models and Path operation, Routing Director considers only the required path if an LSP has both required path and preferred path.

Description

Displays the description that you added at the time of tunnel creation.
