About the Export Manager Page

To access this page, click Management > Export Manager.

Export Manager provides a centralized interface to configure and manage Routing Director's operational data streaming to external Kafka destinations. You (superusers or network administrators) can use this page to control data export behavior without modifying internal system configurations.

The Export Manager page allows you to define streaming rules, associate data types with Kafka topics, and manage the destinations used for publishing data. It serves as the primary location for monitoring stream activity and maintaining export configurations. The page provides visibility into the operational state of each stream, allowing you to quickly determine whether data exports are active, paused, or facing issues.

Routing Director simplifies data publishing by destination configurations, stream configuration, operational control, and monitoring the streaming capabilities within Routing Director within Routing Director.

Tasks You Can Perform

You can perform the following tasks from this page:

  • View details of data streams—You can view the list of all the data streams that you have configured and their details as displayed in Table 1.

  • Manage destination—A destination specifies the external Kafka cluster and its connection parameters that Routing Director uses to publish the data. Currently, Kafka is the only external system supported by Routing Director. You can add, edit, and delete Kafka destination by using the Manage Destination button. For more information, see Manage Destination.

    Note:

You can add only one destination per organization.

  • Add a Stream—A stream defines how a specific data category is exported, including its association with the configured destination and Kafka topic mapping. You can create one or more streams by using the Add Stream button. For more information, see Manage Data Streams.

  • Pause a Stream—You can temporarily pause data streaming for the selected stream type by using the Pause button. Pausing a stream temporarily stops publishing data while preserving stream configuration settings and operational state.

  • Resume a Stream—You can restore data streaming for a paused stream using the Resume button. The stream continues operation using the existing settings you configured.

  • Edit Stream settings—You can modify data stream settings such Kafka topic mappings by using the Edit (pencil) icon. For more information, see Manage Data Streams.

  • Delete a Stream—You can remove a stream configuration to stop data streaming by using the Delete (trash can) icon. For more information, see Manage Data Streams.

  • You can also perform the following tasks on this page:

    • Sort, resize, or re-arrange columns in a table (grid).

    • Show or hide columns in the table or reset page preferences, using the vertical ellipsis menu.

For more information, see GUI Overview.

Table 1: Description of Fields on the Export Manager Page

Field

Description

ID

The Universal Unique Identifier (UUID) assigned to the data stream.

The UUID is system-generated and used for internal tracking and management.

Stream

The type of streaming data that is exported by Routing Director, such as Device and Underlay KPIs, Syslog, Alerts, Alarms, Active Assurance KPIs, and so on.

Currently, only Device and Underlay KPIs and Syslogs are supported by Routing Director.

Destination Details

The destination associated with the streaming configuration.

Currently, only Kafka destination type is supported by Routing Director.

Status

The operational state of the stream. Different operational states are:

  • Paused

  • Exporting

Last Modified

The date and time when the stream configuration was last updated. The timestamp is displayed in the following format: Month DD, YYYY, HH:MM:SS AM/PM.

For example, Feb 28, 2026, 4:29:52 PM.

Last Modified By

The user who last updated the stream configuration.
