Post Cluster Upgrade Tasks

After upgrading the cluster and Deployment Shell OVA, you must perform the following tasks to complete the upgrade process.

Update the base OS. See Update the OS for instructions.
You, as a network administrator, must also upgrade the service designs, resource instances, and service instances. The upgrade of your Routing Director installation is incomplete without performing the following steps:
1. Upgrade all service designs.
  1. Click Orchestration > Service Catalog. The Service Designs page appears.
  2. You can upgrade all the service designs at once. Select all the service designs and click More > Upgrade Service Design. Click Yes in the upgrade confirmation dialog box.
2. Upgrade all the resource instances.
  1. Click Orchestration > Resource Instances. The Resource Instances page appears.
  2. Select a resource instance and click More > Upgrade Service Design. Click Yes in the upgrade confirmation dialog box.
    
    Important:
    We recommend that you upgrade all the service designs and resource instances to ensure that the latest versions are available for your services.
3. Upgrade the network implementation plans. Navigate to Inventory > Network Implementation Plan, select a plan and click More > Upgrade Service Design.
4. Upgrade the service instances.
  1. Click Orchestration > Instances. The Service Instances page appears.
  2. Select a service instance and click More > Upgrade Service Design.
    
    We recommend that you test the upgrade on a few service instances before upgrading all the instances. Do not upgrade more than four service instances at a time.
