About the Link Tab (Planner)

On the Link tab (Planning > Networks > Offline Models > Model-Name > Open), view information about the links in the network. You can also perform various actions on the links from this tab. To perform common actions such as filtering using advanced filter criteria, downloading link details, and resetting preferences, see Network Table Overview.

Tasks You Can Perform

You can perform the following tasks on the Link tab:

  • View link traffic—You can view the historical data for link traffic. To view the link traffic, select a link and click View > View Traffic. The Link Traffic page appears.

You can view a graphical representation of link traffic in bps (between interface A and interface Z) that has been collected over a period. This historical data provides you valuable insights into past trends and patterns. Click the pin icon to pin the page anywhere on the screen so that you can continuously monitor the historic data

Note: For Routing Director to display the link traffic graph, you must have imported a production network along with data. Also, ensure that you have loaded the statistic file from the View Stats page (Planning > Networks > Offline Models > Model-Name > More > View Stats). For more information, see Traffic Matrix Workflow.
  • From the More list, you can perform the following tasks:

    Note:

You can also right-click a link to view the same options.

    • View details about a link—To view details such as the site name, country, site id, organization, id, and time zone:

      • Hover over a link row in the table and click the Details icon.

      • Select the link on the table and click More > Show Detail.

The Link - Device A to Device Z appears, which includes the Details tab.

On the Details tab, you can view the node id associated with the link, IPv4 address of the two nodes, bandwidth, live status, and the operational status of the link.

The Link - Device A to Device Z page is movable so that you can pin it anywhere on the screen.

  • Download link-related information—Click Download to download detailed information about all the existing links in the topology, in CSV format.

  • Add links to the network model—Click + to add new links. For more information see Create a Link (Planner).
