Update Service Designs and Instances After Routing Director Upgrade

After the Routing Director cluster has been upgraded, use the information in this topic to upgrade the service designs, resource instances, and service instances on the upgraded setup.

  1. Upgrade the topo service design and resource instance.

    1. Click Orchestration > Service Catalog. The Service Designs page appears.

    2. Upgrade the topo service design to the pending version. Select topo and click More > Install Pending Version.

    3. Click Orchestration > Resource Instances. The Resource Instances page appears.

    4. Upgrade the topo resource instance. Select topo and click More > Upgrade Service Design.

    Warning:

    You must upgrade the topo service design and resource instance to resume normal operation after a cluster upgrade. If you do not upgrade, the network implementation plan and service provisioning will fail.

  2. Upgrade the remaining service designs.

    1. Click Orchestration > Service Catalog. The Service Designs page appears.

    2. Upgrade the following service designs in the following specified order. Select the service design and click More > Install Pending Version.

      1. l2-addr

      2. l3-addr

      3. routing

      4. vpn-resources

      5. Refresh the page to confirm that these four service designs have been upgraded and no pending versions are available for them.

      6. elan-evpn-csm

      7. eline-l2circuit-nsm

      8. infrastructure

      9. l3vpn

      10. Refresh the page to confirm that these four service designs have been upgraded and no pending versions are available for them.

  3. Upgrade the remaining resource instances.

    1. Click Orchestration > Resource Instances. The Resource Instances page appears.

    2. Upgrade the remaining resource instances. Select the resource instance and click More > Upgrade Service Design.

      Important:

      We recommend that you upgrade all the service designs and resource instances to ensure that the latest versions are available for your services.

  4. Upgrade the network implementation plans. Navigate to Inventory > Network Implementation Plan, select a plan and click More > Upgrade Service Design.

  5. Upgrade the service instances.

    1. Click Orchestration > Instances. The Service Instances page appears.

    2. Upgrade the service instances. Select a service instance and click More > Upgrade Service Design.

      We recommend that you test the upgrade on a few service instances before upgrading all the instances.
