Add EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Service Site Details
An EVPN service is provisioned on a collection of sites to exchange network traffic over a shared infrastructure with a common layer 2 technology such as Ethernet. An EVPN-VPWS service is provisioned on a point-to-point connection between two sites over an MPLS network. Use the Customer Site Settings section of the Add E-LAN EVPN CSM or the Add E-Line EVPN VPWS CSM service page to enter details of sites that you want to connect to the EVPN or EVPN-VPWS.
You configure the following in the Customer Site Settings section:
-
General details (site ID, site VPN flavor, location, devices, and MAC loop prevention parameters) about the site. See Add EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Site.
-
Parameters for site network access (connection with the service provider network). See Add EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Site Network Access Parameters.
Add EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Site
Prerequisite
Before adding the EVPN or EVPN-VPWS service site details, you must create a new EVPN or EVPN-VPWS service instance and enter general details about the service. Follow steps 1 to 4 of the Add an EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Service Instance procedure to create a new instance and add general details.
A site refers to the geographical area where the VPN service spans. To add an EVPN or EVPN-VPWS service site in the Customer Site Settings section:
Configure the network access parameters. See Add EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Site Network Access Parameters.
|
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Site ID* |
Enter a unique site ID to identify the site in the network. For example, site1. The site ID can contain alphanumeric characters and special characters hyphens (-) and underscores (_). The maximum number of characters allowed is 64. |
|
Site VPN Flavor |
Select how you want to connect the site to the VPN. For example, a site can connect to a single VPN or multiple VPNs. Only single site VPN flavor (site-vpn-flavor-single) is supported in this release. In the single site VPN flavor, the site is connected to only one VPN. Note: This field is available only when
you create an E-LAN EVPN CSM service instance.
|
|
Locations |
|
|
Location ID* |
Enter a unique ID for a location in the site. For example, MAN for Manhattan and BRO for Brooklyn in the New York site. |
|
Address |
Enter the address (number and street) of the location in a site. For example, 123, Avenue Street. |
|
City |
Enter the city where the site is located. For example, MAN for Manhattan. |
|
Country Code |
Enter the ISO alpha-2 code of the country where the site is located, for example, ZA for South Africa and CH for Switzerland. |
|
Postal Code |
Enter the postal code of the location in the site. For example, 100XX for New York. |
|
State |
Enter the state in which the site is located. If the country doesn't have states, enter the region in which the site is located. For example, NYC for New York City. |
|
Devices |
|
|
Devices |
Enter or select the CE devices to be used for the EVPN or EVPN-VPWS service at the site. For example, ACX-CE1. This parameter allows the customer to request for devices from the service provider to be installed at the site. |
|
Expand MAC Loop Prevention This section is available only when you create an E-LAN EVPN CSM service instance. |
|
|
Frequency |
Enter the number of times that MAC address duplication is to be detected in a default time interval of 180 seconds or 3 minutes. When a MAC address is detected as duplicate, it is added to a list of duplicate MAC addresses. The default frequency is 5. |
|
Retry Timer |
Set the retry interval (in seconds) for a duplicate MAC address. Enter a value in the range 60 to 21600. After the retry timer expires, the duplicate MAC address is removed from the MAC-VRF table (virtual routing and forwarding table for MAC addresses) on PE devices. |
Add EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Site Network Access Parameters
Prerequisite:
To set site network access parameters:
Add Access Diversity Parameters for EVPN and EVPN VPWS Site Network Access
This section is available only when you create an E-LAN EVPN CSM service instance.
Prerequisite:
Complete steps 1 to 3 of the Add EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Site Network Access Parameters procedure.
A network administrator can group the connections from a site to the service provider network, assign group ID to each connection group, and apply certain constraints to all the connections included in a group. A constraint is expressed in relation to another set of connections (target set). For example, a connection X in a group with group ID G1 must be "PE-diverse" (constraint type) from connections in a target group with group ID G2. The site network access that you are configuring might use the same or different group ID than the target network accesses. You can assign one or more group IDs for a connection, specify constraint types, and select the target group ID that the constraint must be applied to, in the Access Diversity section.
To assign group IDs to a connection and apply constraints to target group IDs:
Add Connection Parameters for EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Site Network Access
Prerequisite:
Complete steps 1 to 6 of the Add EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Site Network Access Parameters procedure to add connection parameters for the EVPN site network access.
Complete steps 1 to 4 of the Add EVPN or EVPN-VPWS Site Network Access Parameters procedure to add connection parameters for the EVPN-VPWS site network access.
To add connection parameters:
