Create a Node (Planner)

On the Device tab, add a device to your network model.

To add a device:

  1. Navigate to Planning > Networks > Offline Models > Model-Name > Open.

    The Topology page is displayed with the topology map at the center and the network information table at the bottom of the page.

  2. Navigate to the Device tab.

  3. Click the icon (+).

    The Create Node page appears.

  4. Complete the configuration according to the guidelines in Table 1.

    Note: Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

  5. Click Submit to add a device.

A message indicating that the device is added appears. You are returned to the Device tab where you can view the newly added device.

Field Description
Name* Specify the name of the device. Use alphanumeric characters, underscore, hyphen, period, or colon. Space, comma, semicolon not allowed.

For example, Node-1.
Hostname Specify the host name of the device.

For example, acx-1.
Hardware Select the device vendor.
Latitude

Specify the latitude of your device's location to visualize its placement on the topology map.

For example, 40.7128.
Longitude

Specify the longitude of your device's location to visualize its placement on the topology map

For example, 74.0060.
Properties
Description Enter a description for the node that you are adding.
IPv4 Specify the IPv4 address of the device.

For example, 10.1.1.1.
