About the FlexAlgo Tab
To access this tab, click Observability > Network > Topology > FlexAlgo.
Routing Director discovers FADs that you have configured on the devices in your network.
On this tab, you can view the details of the Flexible Algorithm Definition (FAD). If you select a flex algo ID in the flex algo table, then the nodes and links that are participating in the selected flex algo ID is highlighted on the topology map.
For information about how to configure flex algo on the devices in your network, see How to Configure Flexible Algorithms in OSPF for Segment Routing Traffic Engineering and Flexible Algorithms in IS-IS for Segment Routing Traffic Engineering.
Table 1 provides information on the fields in the FlexAlgo tab.
Tasks You Can Perform
-
View details about a FlexAlgo ID—To view details (such as source node, metric type, and so on):
-
Hover over a FlexAlgo ID row in the table and click the Details icon. On the FlexAlgo ID-Number page that appears, you can view the details of the selected flex algo.
-
Select the FlexAlgo ID on the table and click More > Show Detail. On the FlexAlgo ID-Number page that appears, you can view the details of the selected flex algo.
-
-
View the computed path on the Topology map—When you select a flex algo ID, the links and nodes that are participating in the selected flex algo ID are highlighted on the Topology map. The color conventions are as follows:
-
Red highlight—Indicates one-sided participation from the device for the selected FlexAlgo ID.
-
Yellow line—Indicates both the devices are participating for the selected the FlexAlgo ID.
-
-
View conflicts in FAD parameters—Sometimes, multiple devices in your network might participate in the same FlexAlgo definition (FAD). Even though the FAD ID is the same, the user might have configured FAD parameters differently at the device level. In such scenarios, the FlexAlgo table highlights the differences in FAD parameters in red so that you can easily identify the difference in FAD parameters configuration.
Note: The conflicts are highlighted only for the following FAD parameters: Metric type and calculation type. -
To perform common actions such as filtering using advanced filter criteria and resetting preferences, see Network Table Overview.
| Fields | Description |
|---|---|
| FlexAlgo ID | Displays the FlexAlgo definition (FAD) identifier number, which ranges from 128 through 255. |
| Source Node | Displays the device name on which the flex algo is configured. |
| Metric Type | Displays the metric type (IGP, TE, or Delay) that you have defined in the flex algo definition. |
| Calc Type | Displays the calculation type that you have defined in the flex algo
definition.
|
| Priority | Displays the priority that you have defined in the flex algo. By default, the priority is set as 0. |
| Admin Group Exclude | Lists the administrative groups that are excluded. |
| Admin Group Include Any | Includes any of the administrative groups that listed. |
| Admin Group Include All | Includes all of the administrative groups that listed. |
| Redundancy Check | If the same FlexAlgo definition (FAD) ID is applicable for at least two different devices then the redundancy check is displayed as Yes. If the FAD ID is set for only one of the devices then the redundancy check is displayed as No. |
