Configure gNMI Telemetry

Follow the steps described in this topic to enable or disable gNMI Telemetry in Juniper Routing Assurance.

You can configure gNMI Telemetry at an organization level and at site level.

Configure gNMI Telemetry at the organization level if you want a single default setting that applies across all sites. If a specific site requires a different setting, set the gNMI Telemetry value directly at the site level. The site-level setting overrides the organization-level default setting.

Note: Configure the gNMI Telemetry setting at either the organization level for a global default or at the site level for a site-specific configuration; enabling gNMI Telemetry at both organization level and site level is not necessary.
Note: To enable gNMI Telemetry, the router must be in Connected state.

Configure gNMI Telemetry at the Organization Level

  1. Log in to Juniper Routing Assurance and navigate to Organization > Settings.
  2. Enable or disable the gNMI Telemetry setting as needed in the gNMI Telemetry widget.
  3. Click Save to save the settings.
Verify that the settings are saved and close the Organization Settings page.

Configure gNMI Telemetry at the Site Level

  1. Log in to Juniper Routing Assurance and navigate to Organization > Site Configuration.
    The Sites page appears.
  2. Click the site for which you want to configure gNMI Telemetry.
The Site Configuration: Site Name page appears.
  3. Enable or disable the gNMI Telemetry setting as needed in the gNMI Telemetry widget.
  4. Click Save to save the settings.
Verify that the settings are saved and close the Sites page.

Once gNMI is enabled, you can begin using all features that depend on gNMI for live telemetry and operational visibility.

Note: Insights for features that are dependent on gNMI telemetry will not be available in Juniper Routing Assurance if gNMI telemetry is disabled.
