Find Information and Troubleshoot Juniper Products and Services Using Marvis AI Assistant

Marvis AI Assistant (Marvis) is a conversational AI assistant that enables you to ask questions in natural language and receive quick, contextual, and actionable responses about Juniper Networks products and services.

Marvis can assist with product information, configuration guidance, troubleshooting, and documentation retrieval within a single conversational interface. For more information, see Marvis AI Assistant Overview.

Note:

Marvis capabilities are scoped by the application through which it is accessed. Depending on the entry point, Marvis may use different agents, tools, and data sources to generate responses.

To use Marvis to find information and troubleshoot issues:

  1. Log into Juniper Routing Assurance.
  2. Click Marvis AI Assistant icon at the lower right corner of the UI.
    Marvis chatbot icon
Marvis AI Assistant chat window appears at the lower right corner of the page.

Click the Expand icon in the chat window to open it in full‑screen.

  3. To start your conversation with Marvis, use the suggested prompt templates available under the Quick Start section.

Click the prompt template that best suits your question.

The chatbox is populated with your selected prompt.

Complete the prompt with the relevant details and press Enter to get a response.

    Note:

The suggested prompt templates are optional and are provided for convenience.

Once a response is generated, the prompt suggestions disappear.

  4. If your question doesn't fit the suggested prompt templates, you can ignore the suggestions and enter your question directly in the chatbox.

Enter the search string or keyword that you want to look up. For example, "JRA supported devices".

You can also enter questions and statements just like you would in a normal conversation. In addition, you can ask follow-up questions and clarifications to refine the query and response.

For example, you can ask a general question like, “Can we onboard devices to JRA?” and follow it up with a more specific question like, “How to onboard MX204?”.

Based on your input, Marvis interprets the intent of the query and applies specialized AI agents to analyze relevant data sources, retrieve applicable documentation, and generate a contextual response. Depending on how the query is processed, the AI agent or tool used to generate the response is displayed at the top of the response.

You can also paste error messages or logs into the chatbox for assistance. Marvis uses agent‑driven diagnostics to provide explanations, troubleshooting steps, and links to relevant documentation to help resolve the issue.

Marvis also allows you to copy the query response, view citations, and reset the conversation.

An action toolbar appears at the end of each response, providing quick access to the following functions:
    • Copy to Clipboard—Click the copy icon to copy the content of your query, the generated response, and related citations to the clipboard.

    • View Citations—Click the citations icon to view the list of sources on which the generated response is based. Click the citation links to explore the source materials.

    • Reset Conversation—Click the reset conversation icon to start a new conversation.

      Note:

Resetting the conversation clears your conversation history and starts a new session.

  5. You can close Marvis if your query is resolved, or continue the conversation if you have any follow-up queries.

Marvis suggests related questions that can help you refine your query and explore additional information.

Click a question from the Related Questions section to populate it in the chat and continue the conversation or enter your follow-up question in the chatbox.
  6. To start a new conversation, click New Thread. Alternatively, press Ctrl + K.
You can view and manage your conversation history from the sidebar.

The Threads section displays your conversation history, grouped by day.

Click Delete to remove conversations from history. Alternatively, click the three dots on a specific thread and select Delete.
