Introduction

Visibility into the enterprise routing infrastructure is critical to ensuring Quality of Service. Network administrators use various tools and scripts to collect routing insights from the network. However, the data provided by such tools is often unreliable and not always actionable. To proactively address service-impacting issues, network administrators need reliable and actionable insights to respond to network events.

Juniper Routing Assurance is an AIOps-based routing observability platform that provides actionable insights to network administrators. These insights enable administrators to respond proactively to anomalies in the enterprise routing infrastructure. The collected insights are presented as tables, graphs and charts, which makes it easy for administrators to interpret and resolve high impact network issues.

Juniper Routing Assurance collects the following insights:

  • Platform insights─Provides information about the performance of the routing platform and its components, such as interfaces and ports, CPU and memory utilization, temperature, power consumption, and so on.

  • Forwarding insights─Provides information about interface queues and packet drops.

  • Routing insights─Provides information about router events, BGP and OSPF summary, port errors and so on.

Juniper Routing Assurance provides unprecedented operational visibility into router metrics and service levels within a few minutes of onboarding the router. The Service Level Expectations (SLEs) dashboard provides real-time view of the SLE metrics. Network administrators can review the variations in these metrics, identify potential problems in the network, and troubleshoot issues that might cause service degradation.

By leveraging the AIOps capability of Marvis, Juniper Routing Assurance proactively identifies network issues across sites. Marvis Actions in Juniper Routing Assurance identifies issues such as high CPU consumption, port flaps, packet drops and much more. Furthermore, Marvis Actions recommends actions to resolve these events. With Marvis Actions, enterprises can improve operational efficiency and reduce operational cost and downtime. Juniper Routing Assurance also provides the generative AI-based Marvis Conversational Interface (CI). Marvis CI enables administrators to quickly search within product documentation for relevant troubleshooting information to resolve the events.

Juniper Routing Assurance also provides utilities to troubleshoot routers remotely.
