Enable Routing Observability and View Routing Analytics Data

The Routing Observability feature in Paragon Automation allows you to actively monitor the overall routing health in real time. You can use the Route Explorer dashboard of the Paragon Automation GUI.

Perform these steps to enable the routing observability feature and view routing analytics data:

  1. Configure a virtual IP (VIP) address when you configure the Paragon Automation cluster to enable the routing observability feature.

Configure a VIP (by using Paragon Shell) which is used by external network devices as the BMP station IP address to establish the BMP session. For more information, see Deploy the Cluster Nodes.

  2. Enable routing protocol analytics on the Create Device Profile page when you create a device profile.

Enable the Routing Protocol Analytics option when you add a device profile to configure routing data collection. For more information, see Add a Device Profile.

  3. Configure routing data collection.

Configure BGP data collection parameters such as BGP state and routing information bases (RIBs) to view BGP analytics data on the Route Explorer dashboard. For more information, see Add a Device Profile.

  4. View and monitor routing analytics.

Use the Route Explorer dashboard to monitor the health and status of IPv4 and IPv6 routes of all BGP speakers. For more information, see About the Route Explorer Page.
