Performance Graphs to View Passive Assurance Monitoring Data

The Passive Assurance tab in the Service-Instance-Name Details page allows you to view results of health checks that Paragon Automation performs on a service and its related parameters after the service is provisioned in the network. To access the Passive Assurance tab, navigate to the Orchestration > Instances > Service Instances page, and select and click the service instance name to open the Service-Instance-Name Details page. Click the Passive Assurance tab to view the service components and related parameters, categorized into accordions. Each accordion under the Passive Assurance tab provides information about the related parameters and the relevant events (alerts) generated. Click any hyperlinked table entry to open the corresponding accordion on the Service-Component-Name Details for service-instance-name page.

The Service-Component-Name Details for service-instance-name page lists the parameters (categorized into accordions) for which Paragon Automation performs health checks. The performance graph for an accordion displays information about the performance of the parameter in a specified time duration.

Performance graphs for measurable parameters such as bandwidth, flaps, error counts, and so on display X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) axes. The x-axis shows the time duration for which the performance is displayed. The y-axis displays the parameter name and number or measurement unit. The graphs display a line with the data points related to events that have occurred. Click any data point to view more information about the corresponding event in a pop-up. The cause for the alert, if any, is also displayed.

Performance graphs for the operational or connection status of a parameter display only the x-axis that shows the time duration for which the performance is displayed. The graphs display a blue or gray line with data points to indicate whether the status is Up or Down. A blue line indicates that the parameter status is Up or in active state. A gray line indicates that the status is Down or not operational. Click any data point on the line to view more information about the corresponding event in a pop-up. The cause for the alert, if any, is also displayed.

You can view the performance of a parameter for different time durations or set a custom duration. By default, information for the past 30 minutes is displayed. To change this period, click one of following options provided in the time duration bar on top of the Service-Component-Name Details for service-instance-name page:

  • Week

  • Day

  • 3 hrs

  • 1 hr

  • 30 mins

  • Custom

Click the Custom button to set a custom time duration for which you want to view the performance graph. The custom time setting bar is enabled and displays the start and end time for which you are viewing the performance graphs in the MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM AM/PM format. Click the start and end time to change the time duration. The calendar is displayed and you can select the new start and end time duration to view the performance graphs.

    Note:

The date you set must be the present date or any date from the past one week.

You can refresh the performance graphs to view the latest data by clicking the Refresh icon at the top of the Service-Component-Name Details for service-instance-name page. The performance graphs also auto-refresh at an interval depending on the time range for which the information is displayed. Table 1 lists the auto-refresh frequencies for different time ranges. The next refresh time is displayed near the Refresh icon at the top of the page.

You can also view the performance graphs for service component parameters in a new tab. Click the pop-out icon at the top-right corner of the accordion to view the performance graph in a new tab.
