Manage Tags

SUMMARY Use this topic to add, edit, and delete tags that you can assign to devices. Tags are labels that you can assign to devices and interfaces (both physical and logical).

Add a Tag to Paragon Automation

To add a tag to Paragon Automation:
  1. Click Inventory > Common Resources > Tags.

    The Tags page appears.

  2. Click the + (Add) icon to add a tag.

    The Create Tag page appears.

  3. In the Tag field, enter the tag in the key:value format. For example, interfacetype:Internet.

    A key represents a property or a parameter of the device or interface. A key must start with a lowercase letter and can be followed by lowercase letters, numbers, or underscores (_), and between 2 to 50 characters long.

    A value represents the value for that property or parameter. A value can include alphanumeric characters, periods (.), hyphens (-), and underscores (_) and between 1 to 200 characters long.

  4. Click OK.
    The tag is created and listed in the Tags table. The key is listed in the Key column and the value is listed in the Value column.

Edit a Tag

You can edit the key or the value or both of a tag. To edit a tag:

  1. Click Inventory > Common Resources > Tags.

    The Tags page appears.

  2. Select the tag that you want to edit and click the Edit icon.

    The Edit Tag page appears.

  3. Edit the key, value, or both key and value of the tag.

    A key must start with a lowercase letter and can be followed by lowercase letters, numbers, or underscores and between 2 to 50 characters long.

    A value can include alphanumeric characters, periods (.), hyphens (-), and underscores and between 1 to 200 characters long.

  4. Click OK.

    The Edit Tag page closes and you can view the updates that you made to the tag in the Tags table.

Delete Tags

To delete a tag:
  1. Click Inventory > Common Resources > Tags.

    The Tags page appears.

  2. Select the tag and click Delete to delete the tag.
    The Confirm Delete page appears.
  3. Click OK.

    The tag is removed from the Tags table. When you delete a tag that is assigned to a device or an interface, the tag is removed from the device or interface.
