Forecast Power Cost and GHG Emission
The Network Sustainability Analytics features in DC Assurance enable you to forecast energy consumption, power cost, and greenhouse gas emissions. To accurately measure and forecast power cost, you need to enter the power cost per unit provided by your power supplier in your preferred currency. For Carbon intensity data, you need to enter the emission value based on the source of power, regional emission standards, and your organization's emission goals.
Compliance with SBTi Targets
Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a climate action organization that enables organizations to make their contribution in combating the climate crisis. SBTi targets are greenhouse gas emission reduction goals set by the organizations in line with Paris agreement on climate change.
SBTi target is a comprehensive score that includes energy consumption and carbon emission contributed by the entire infrastructure in your organization, which includes networking devices, servers, power generation systems, cooling systems, and so on. DC Assurance focuses on providing sustainability analytics for network devices only, thereby enabling you to comply with the energy consumption targets and carbon emission standards for those devices. This data serves as an input for organization-level and site-level SBTi reports.
Sustainability Report shows the annual energy consumption, GHG emission, and power cost metrics. Hover over any of these values to view current value and the forecasted value for that metric.
Power Consumption Forecast
DC Assurance collects power usage data from the network devices and provides projections for energy consumption and power cost based on past consumption data. The forecasted data is useful for budgeting power cost. You can specify the power cost value in your preferred currency based on the source of power, power tariff rates in your geographical region, and your organization's contribution to green energy.
You can compare the estimated energy consumption and the actual energy consumed. If the actual power consumed exceeds the estimate, you can investigate the devices or components that are causing spikes in energy consumption, and then perform remedial actions.
Greenhouse Gas Emission Forecast
DC Assurance forecasts GHG emission, at the site-level and organization-level, based on the emission standards in your region and the power consumed by the network devices. You can specify a value based on the source of power and the emission standards in your geographical region. The total emission value correlates with the total energy consumed by the network devices in your organization.
