Validate Your Juniper Account

This topic describes the steps to validate your Juniper registered user account.

Juniper Apstra Cloud Services validates users before providing access to customer-centric information about your devices. The user credentials are validated through the Juniper Support Portal to prevent unauthorized access to device information. Once validated, the user is granted access to customer-centric information that the user is entitled to access.

Note:

If you successfully execute the Account Integration workflow, your identity is automatically validated and you can access the customer-centric JSI data artifacts. Otherwise, you will be prompted to validate your identity to gain access to the customer-centric JSI data artifacts.

Once validated, validation persists across user sessions, eliminating the need to re-validate your identity each time you log in.

Before you begin, ensure the following requirements are met:

Prerequisites

  • As a user invited to the organization, you must fulfill the following conditions to gain access to the customer-centric information:

    • You must have a registered Juniper account.

You can register your account on the Juniper Support Portal.

    • You must have one of the following roles in JSP: Service, Service Direct, JSI Admin, JSI Standard, JSI Super Admin.

If you have any other role, your account validation will be unsuccessful.

    • Your user account must have the required permission to access the information.

To have valid access privileges, your user account must be mapped to the Juniper account ID linked to the organization.

Validate Your Juniper Account

Customer-centric device information is masked to prevent unauthorized access. You must successfully validate your identity to access the masked customer-centric information of devices associated with the account, such as installed address, contract information, warranty information, and so. Once validated, validation persists across user sessions, eliminating the need for revalidation each time you log in.

To validate your account:

  1. Navigate to Organization > Inventory > Installed Base or Organization > Support Insights > Assets & Contracts.

On these pages, you can view device-centric information for all Juniper devices, but the customer-centric information for the devices appears blurred.

A banner appears, prompting you to validate your user account. This is to confirm that you are authorized to view the customer-centric device information.

  2. Do one of the following:
    • Click Validate Email ID on the banner.

    • Hover over any of the blurred fields and click Validate.

The Validate Juniper Account pop-up appears.

  3. Enter your Juniper registered account credentials (email address and password) that you created through Juniper Support Portal.
  4. Click Validate.
On successful validation, the page is refreshed and displays the device-centric information and the customer-centric information that you are entitled to access.
    Note:

Your access to customer-centric information depends on the access privileges granted to your account. For more information, see Users with Validated Juniper Account.

If the credentials you entered are recognized as invalid, you are prompted to re-enter valid credentials. For further assistance, contact your service manager or customer support.

Validate Your Juniper Account as an Unregistered User

You must have a Juniper registered user account to access customer-centric device information.

To validate your account as an unregistered user:

  1. Navigate to Organization > Inventory > Installed Base or Organization > Support Insights > Assets & Contracts.

On these pages, you can view device-centric information for all the devices, but the customer-centric information appears blurred.

A banner appears, prompting you to validate your user account. This is to confirm that you are authorized to view the blurred customer-centric device information.

  2. Do one of the following:
    • Click Validate Email ID on the banner.

    • Hover over any of the blurred fields and click Validate.

The Validate Juniper Account pop-up appears.

  3. Enter your Juniper account credentials (email address and password).
  4. Click Validate.

If the credentials you entered are recognized as invalid, you are prompted to re-enter valid credentials. You may also encounter this issue if you do not have a Juniper registered account. For further assistance, contact your service manager or customer support.

Click Close to return to the page.

  5. If you do not have a user account, click Register to register your account with Juniper.
You are redirected to the user registration page (https://userregistration.juniper.net/).
  6. Register your account.
After successful registration, log in to the organization, navigate to the Installed Base tab or Assets & Contracts tab and repeat steps 2 through 4.
On successful validation, the page is refreshed and displays the device-centric information and the customer-centric information that you are entitled to access.
    Note:

Your access to sensitive customer-centric information depends on the access privileges granted to your account. For more information, see Users with Validated Juniper Account.

Users with Validated Juniper Account

This section describes the various levels of access controls you might encounter after you successfully validate your account.

All users who are invited to the organization can view device-centric information for all devices without any validation.

Users who successfully validate their credentials can view all, some, or none of the customer-centric information depending on whether they are authorized to access the same accounts to which the customer-centric information belongs.

Note:

For assistance with access privileges, contact your service manager or Juniper customer support.
