Introduction

This release note accompanies Juniper® Identity Management Service (JIMS) Release 1.7.2R1. It describes the product, along with its known behavior, issues, and limitations.

JIMS 1.7.2R1 supports both On-premises deployments and Juniper Secure Edge environments.

JIMS (for Windows) is a standalone Windows service application that collects and maintains a large in-memory cache of user, device, and group information from Active Directory domains. This enables SRX Series firewalls to rapidly identify users in large, distributed enterprise environments. SRX Series Service Gateways can leverage this information to create, manage, and enforce security policies based on user identity rather than IP address, allowing precise access control to corporate resources and the Internet.

In addition, JIMS 1.7.2R1 supports integration with third-party Identity Providers (IdPs), such as Okta and Microsoft Entra ID, across both On-premises and Secure Edge deployments.
