Deprecated Features

The following features are deprecated in Contrail Networking Release 21.4.L3.

• As Intel has announced EOL for its N3k series of smart NICs, Juniper will retire support for these NICs starting from Contrail Networking Release 21.4.L3.

• Appformix is EOL and there will not be any further Appformix releases. If Juniper continues to ship Appformix containers with Contrail Networking, then it will pose a security risk as CVE’s on Appformix will not be addressed. Thus, starting from Contrail Networking Release 21.4 L3, Appformix containers will not be shipped along with Contrail containers. As a result, the Contrail Networking application will not generate fabric related alarms, fabric topology view and overlay to underlay flow mapping.

The following features are deprecated for the Contrail fabric managements use case in Contrail Networking Release 21.3.

• VNF for BMS workloads. See Creating VNF Service Chains for Inter-LR Traffic.

• Collapsed Spine topology

• MX Series Routers acting as server leaf

• AR-Replicator

• PIM support on Unmanaged PNF use case

The following feature is deprecated in Contrail Networking Release 2011.L2.

• VMware vCenter

The following features are deprecated in Contrail Networking Release 2008.

• vRouter data plane encryption

• Public cloud vRouter as a multicloud gateway

The following feature is deprecated in Contrail Networking Release 2003.

• Installation and upgrade using Helm deployer
