The following section describes how to configure audit log options in the evaluated configuration.

Configuring Audit Log Options

The syslog settings include the file size in bytes and the configurable number of archive files. The system generates the log files based on these settings, regardless of the available storage space.

Depending on the user's login class, the user can view or clear audit logs. The security administrator has read and delete privileges for the audit files, while readonly class cannot clear the audit logs.

To configure audit log options for your devices:

  1. Specify the number of files to be archived in the system logging facility.
  2. Specify the file in which to log data.
  3. Specify the size of files to be archived.
  4. Specify the priority and facility in messages for the system logging facility.
  5. Log system messages in a structured format.
  6. Commit the changes:
