New and Changed Features

We've introduced the following in Juniper BNG CUPS 26.2R1:

  • BNG CUPS Controller adds support for up to 16 control plane instances, 256 BNG User Planes, and 1.5 million subscribers. Also, multiple geography support for a two cluster solution replaces the three cluster multiple geography solution. .

  • Redundancy for logical interface sets with warm backup and optimization of forwarding plane resources. Use IFL sets in redundancy groups to optimize line card resources in warm backup deployments.

  • Lawful intercept (LI) persistence, restart recovery, and encryption for logs and data with safeguards for in-use objects on Junos Evolved for ACX7100-48L, ACX7332, and ACX7348 devices as BNG User Planes You can maintain resilient lawful interception operations. DTCP-created LI rules persist across container and daemon restarts.

  • Support for L2TP network server (LNS) subscribers with L2TP services, accounting, resiliency, and IP reassembly. Use this feature to deploy LNS subscribers with L2TP, supporting single or dual-stack PPP, including DHCPv6 over PPP, and collecting subscriber statistics.

  • Support for Carrier-Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT) address and port mapping for subscriber sessions. You can correlate subscriber sessions with private and public address and port-block allocations across Juniper BNG CUPS and CGNAT. This correlation scales subscriber management, supports lawful tracking, and improves IP utilization.

  • Support for subscriber address preservation. We provide address preservation support for all IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. This feature enables you to save subscriber IP addresses when the subscriber logs out and restores them when the subscriber logs in again.

  • Updated the session field in the show subscriber-group command to display additional information for programming failures. See show subscriber-group.

  • Added a command to view interface-set information (ACX Series BNG User Planes). You can use the show user-plane interfaces interface-set command to view interface-set information. See show user-plane interfaces
