PFE Next-Hop Usage Probe
The PFE Next-Hop Usage probe notifies you when next-hops approach the hardware scale limitations of the device. This Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) probe collects PFE VXLAN and interface next-hop usage on Junos QFX5000 Series and EX4000 Series switches. The probe collects usage data only from leaf and access switches in an EVPN blueprint. By default, the probe raises an anomaly when next-hop usage reaches 80 percent of the total bank capacity.
You can set the Usage Threshold percentage when you instantiate the probe.

The probe processor page shows the PFE Next-Hop and Excessive PFE allocation usage for the devices.
The PFE Next-Hop usage section provides a table that shows the usage. The probe evaluates the bank size to determine the number of entries, analyzes overlay and underlay configurations, and calculates the usage percentage, as shown in the example below.

The Excessive PFE allocation usage section displays anomalies when PFE bank allocations reach a high utilization threshold on the devices.
