QFX5250 Front Panel

The network ports and management ports are located in the front panel of a QFX5250 switch.

The ports panel of the QFX5250 switch have 64 high-speed network ports each. These ports support data transmission speeds of up to 1600 Gbps. The 64 ports (numbered 0 to 63) in the QFX5250 switch support octal small form-factor pluggable (OSFP) transceivers.

Note:

For information about the optical transceivers and cables that support 1600 Gbps transmission in the QFX5250 switch, see Hardware Compatibility Tool (HCT).

Note:

For information about port configuration and channelization in the QFX5250 switch, see Port Checker Tool.

You can find the management panel to the right of the port panel, with the SFP28 ports on the left side of the network ports panel. Apart from the 64 network ports in the ports panel, the QFX5250 switches offer the following ports in the management panel:

  • Two SFP28 Ports—SFP28 are in-band management ports. It supports data transmission speeds of up to 25 Gbps using SFP28 transceivers. The SFP28 ports are numbered 64 and 65.

  • One USB 3.0 port—Primarily used for storage and file transfers. For example, use this port to connect a USB drive to perform upgrades, export configuration files, or save log files.

  • One RJ-45 console (CONSOLE) port—Provides direct serial communication with the switch to support tasks such as initial configuration, troubleshooting, and recovery.

  • One RJ-45 management (MGMT) port—Supports out-of-band management of the switch. The typical use cases include secure management, remote management, monitoring, and logging.

Note: The CONSOLE and MGMT interfaces are physically shared between CPU and Leakage Detection Controller (LDC) board.
  • 2 DIN connectors—Support 1 pulse per second (PPS) output, and 1 10-MHz clock output.
