MX5, MX10, MX40, and MX80 Installation Summary

To install the router:

  1. Prepare your installation site.

    See MX5, MX10, MX40, and MX80 Site Preparation Checklist.

  2. Review the safety guidelines and warnings:
  3. Unpack the router and verify the parts:
    1. See Unpacking MX5, MX10, MX40, and MX80 Routers.
    2. See Verifying the MX5, MX10, MX40, and MX80 Routers Parts Received.
  4. Install the mounting hardware.

  5. Lift the router onto the rack.

  6. Connect cables to the network and external devices:
  7. Connect the grounding cable.

  8. Connect the AC power cord or DC power cables:

  10. Perform the initial system configuration.
