Routine Maintenance Guidelines for the MX301 and MX301-M Router

To maintain optimum device performance, follow these preventive maintenance guidelines:

  • Inspect the installation site for moisture, loose wires or cables, and excessive dust.
  • Ensure that the airflow is unobstructed around the device and into the air intake vents.
  • Check status LEDs on the front panel of the device.
  • Check power supply LEDs and power inputs.
  • Monitor system and chassis alarms.
  • Ensure that the firmware and operating system are updated.
  • Back up the device configuration regularly.
  • Inspect and maintain transceivers and cables.
  • Replace failed components as soon as possible.
