Mount the ME-X2-M

This topic guides you through the steps to mount your device on a two-post or four-post rack.

The rack mounting kit shipped with the ME-X2-M contains the following parts:

  • Two rail mounting assemblies

  • Two chassis mounting brackets

  • Two cable management ties

Mount Your Device on a Four-Post Rack (Toolless)

To mount your device on a four-post rack using the toolless method:
  1. Align the guide blocks on the front rail of the mounting rail assembly with the front-post holes. Push the front rail toward the rear of the rack. The latch on the front rail locks into place.

  2. Align the guide blocks on the rear rail of the mounting rail assembly with the rear-post holes. Pull the rear rail toward the front of the rack. The latch on the rear rail locks into place.

  3. Repeat the process for the other mounting rail assembly.
  4. Align the holes on each mounting bracket with the shoulder screws on the side of the device. Attach the mounting brackets by sliding them toward the rear of the device.

  5. Lift the device and position it so that the mounting brackets are aligned with the mounting rails. Slide the device into the channels of the mounting rails.

  6. Lift the tabs on each side of the front panel of the device and tighten the screws under each tab to secure the device to the rack.

Mount Your Device on a Four-Post Rack (Threaded)

To mount your device on a four-post rack with threaded holes:
  1. Remove the screws securing the front flanges of each mounting rail assembly. Remove the flanges.

  2. Rotate each flange 180° so that the side with round holes faces the front of the mounting rail assembly.

  3. Secure the front flanges to the front of the mounting rail assembly using the screws you removed earlier.

  4. Press the latch on each of the mounting rail assemblies and pull to remove the rear flanges.

  5. Rotate each flange 180° so that the side with round holes faces the rear of the mounting rail assembly.

  6. Slide the rear flanges on to the mounting rail assemblies. The latches on the mounting rail assemblies lock into place.

  7. Align the holes on the front and rear flanges on each mounting rail assembly with the holes on the rack posts. Secure the mounting rail assemblies to the rack posts using screws (not provided).

  8. Align the holes on each mounting bracket with the shoulder screws on the side of the device. Attach the mounting brackets by sliding them toward the rear of the device.

  9. Lift the device and position it so that the mounting brackets are aligned with the mounting rails. Slide the device into the channels of the mounting rails.

  10. Lift the tabs on each side of the front panel of the device and tighten the screws under each tab to secure the device to the rack.

Mount Your Device on a Two-Post Rack (Flush Mount)

To flush mount your device on a two-post rack:
  1. Remove the screws securing the front flanges of each mounting rail assembly. Remove the flanges.

  2. Rotate each flange 180° so that the side with round holes faces the front of the mounting rail assembly.

  3. Secure the front flanges to the front of the mounting rail assembly using the screws you removed earlier.

  4. Align the guide blocks on the front flanges with the holes on the front rack posts. Secure the mounting rail assemblies to the front rack posts using screws (not provided).
  5. Slide the front adjustable L-brackets on each mounting rail assembly toward the front rack posts. Secure the brackets to the front rack posts using screws (not provided).

  6. Align the holes on each mounting bracket with the shoulder screws on the side of the device. Attach the mounting brackets by sliding them toward the rear of the device.

  7. Lift the device and position it so that the mounting brackets are aligned with the mounting rails. Slide the device into the channels of the mounting rails.

  8. Lift the tabs on each side of the front panel of the device and tighten the screws under each tab to secure the device to the rack.

Mount Your Device on a Two-Post Rack (Center Mount)

To center mount your device on a two-post rack:
  1. Push each of the rear flanges on the mounting rail assemblies toward the rear of the assemblies.
  2. Align the holes on each of the fixed L-brackets in the center of the mounting rail assemblies with the holes on the rack posts. Secure the L-brackets to the rack posts using screws (not provided).
  3. Pull each of the rear flanges toward the rack posts. Secure the rear flanges to the rack posts using screws (not provided).

  4. Align the holes on each mounting bracket with the shoulder screws on the side of the device. Attach the mounting brackets by sliding them toward the rear of the device.

  5. Lift the device and position it so that the mounting brackets are aligned with the mounting rails. Slide the device into the channels of the mounting rails.

  6. Lift the tabs on each side of the front panel of the device and tighten the screws under each tab to secure the device to the rack.
