Site Preparation Checklist for EX4100-F Switches

The checklist in Table 1 summarizes the tasks you need to perform when preparing a site for EX4100-F switch installation.

Locate sites to connect system grounding.

Hardware Configuration
Choose the number and types of switches you want to install.	EX4100-F System Overview
Rack or Cabinet
Verify that the rack or cabinet meets the minimum requirements for installing the switch.	Rack Requirements Cabinet Requirements
Plan rack or cabinet location, including required space clearances.
Secure the rack or cabinet to the floor and building structure.
Cables
Acquire cables and connectors: Determine the number of cables needed based on your planned configuration. Review the maximum distance allowed for each cable. Choose the length of the cable based on the distance between the hardware components being connected.
Plan the cable routing and management.
Wall
Verify that the wall meets the minimum requirements for the installation of the switch. Note that EX4100-F wall mounting requirements are similar to EX3400 wall mounting requirements.	Requirements for Mounting an EX3400 Switch on a Desktop or Wall
Wall mount using a magnet The ferrous wall is required to mount the EX4100-F-12P and/or EX4100-F-12T switch using a magnet pad.	Refer note section under Mount an EX4100-F Switch on a Wall
