This checklist provides the links and commands that show the purpose of each RSVP message (except the PathErr and ResvErr messages) that can appear in the output of the rsvp-log file configured at the [edit protocols rsvp traceoptions] hierarchy level. (See

The Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) uses the messages listed in Table 1 to establish and remove paths for data flows, establish and remove reservation information, and confirm the establishment of reservations. The RSVP tracing log file provides useful information about RSVP traffic in the network.

Note: To display tracing output, make sure that RSVP trace options are enabled. See Checklist for Working with RSVP Tracing, for information on configuring RSVP trace options.
