Bridge Domain Configuration Page Options

  1. Select Configure>Bridge Domains.

    The Bridge Domain configuration page appears.

  2. Click one:
    • Global Options—Configures global Options. Enter information as specified in Table 112
    • Add—Adds a new or duplicate code point alias configuration. Enter information as specified in Table 112
    • Edit—Edits the selected bridge domain configuration.
    • Delete—Deletes the selected bridge domain configuration.
  3. Click one:
    • OK—Saves the configuration and returns to the main configuration page.
    • Cancel—Cancels your entries and returns to the main configuration page.
    • Remove—Removes the selected interface from the list.

Specifies the name of the bridge domain.

Specifies information about the bridge domain.

VLAN ID

Specifies a VLAN identifier to include in the packets forwarded on the bridge domain.

Displays the VLAN ID details.

  • number—A valid VLAN identifier. If you configure multiple bridge domains with a valid VLAN identifier, you must specify a unique VLAN identifier for each domain.
  • none—Specify that shared VLAN learning is enabled.

Routing Interface

Specifies a routing interface to include in a bridge domain.

Displays the name of the integrated routing and bridging (IRB) interface to include in the bridge domain.

MAC Learning Options

Global MAC Limit

Limits the number of media access control (MAC) addresses learned from the logical interfaces on the router.

Enter a value in the range of 20 through 131071 to specify the limit for MAC addresses. The default value is 131071.

Packet Action

Specifies that packets for new source MAC addresses be dropped after the MAC address limit is reached.

Select an option. The default option is disabled.

No Global Mac Learning

Activates or deactivate the option.

Select the check box to activate this option.

Flow Options

Set 802.1D BPDU flooding

Sets 802.1D BPDU flooding

Select the check box to activate this option.

Non IP Traffic

Allow

Allows non-IP traffic.

Select the radio button.

Block

Blocks non-IP traffic.

Select the radio button.

Stop IP flooding and send ICMP/ARP (Select the check box to activate this option.)

No trace route

Allows the device to discover the destination MAC address for a unicast packet if the destination IP address is in the same subnetwork as the ingress IP address.

Select the check box to activate this option.

Add Bridge Domain
General

Bridge Domain Name

Specifies the name of the bridge domain.

Configure Layer 2 learning and forwarding properties for a bridge domain.

Description

Specifies the Bridge Domain information.

Enter a description for the bridge domain configured.

Routing Interfaces

Specifies a routing interface to include in a bridge domain.

Enter the name of the integrated routing and bridging (IRB) interface to include in the bridge domain. The format of the interface name is irb.x, where x is the unit number of the interface you configured at the [edit interfaces irb] hierarchy level.

VLAN ID

Specifies a VLAN identifier to include in the packets forwarded on the bridge domain.

Enter a valid VLAN identifier. If you configure multiple bridge domains with a valid VLAN identifier, you must specify a unique VLAN identifier for each domain.

VLAN ID List

VLAN ID List

Dispalys a list of valid VLAN identifiers. A bridge domain is created for each VLAN identifier in the list.

Add a new VLAN ID to the list or remove a VLAN ID from the list.

Check the radio button and enter a valid and unique VLAN identifier.

VLAN Range

Specifies the VLAN range.

Check the radio button and enter a valid VLAN range value.

L2 Interfaces

Displays the L2 Interface that is configured.

Add a new interface. Edit or remove the existing interface.

Add L2 Interfaces

Interface name

Specifies the configured interface.

Configure a new interface under the bridge domain.

Static MAC Address
Add Static MAC Address

Mac Address

Specifies the Mac address of the interface.

Assign a Mac address to the newly added interface.
