Before You Begin

Before you configure VoIP interfaces, you need to perform the following tasks:

• Install Services Router hardware. Before power is connected, ensure that the Services Router is grounded using the grounding cable supplied by Avaya.

  For more information, see the Getting Started Guide for your router.

  Requested Avaya PLM for grounding cable specifications and mode of shipment—with TGM550 or as orderable item.
• Verify that you have connectivity to atleast one Avaya media server running Avaya Communication Manager (CM) software. For more information about Avaya media servers, see Media Gateway Controller.
• Verify that you have a TGM550 user license on the Avaya Communication Manager.
• Establish basic connectivity. For more information, see the Getting Started Guide for your router.
• Download and install the most recent firmware for the TGM550. For more information, see <insert name of Avaya document>
• If you do not already have a basic understanding of physical and logical interfaces and Juniper Networks interface conventions, read Interfaces Overview.
