Avaya Communication Manager

Avaya Communication Manager (CM) manages the media gateway controller (MGC). Avaya CM is an open, scalable, highly reliable, and secure telephony application. It provides user and system management functionality, intelligent call routing, application integration and extensibility, and enterprise communications networking.

Avaya CM allows you to do the following:

• Assign numbers to local telephones
• Determine where to connect your telephone call based on the number you dial
• Play dial tones, busy signals, and prerecorded voice announcements
• Allow or prohibit access to outside lines for specific telephones
• Assign telephone numbers and buttons to special features
• Exchange call switching information with older telephone switches that do not support VoIP

The TGM550 supports Avaya Communication Manager (CM) release 4.0 and later releases. The TGM550 does not support Avaya Communication Manager (CM) releases earlier than release 4.0.
