The TIM521 Telephony Gateway Module PIM (Figure 45) four 4 wire S/T ISDN BRI 2B+D access ports with RJ-45 jacks. Each port interfaces to the central office at the ISDN T reference point.

For BRI trunking, the TIM521 supports up to four BRI interfaces to the central office at the ISDN T reference point. Information is communicated on each port in two ways:

The circuit-switched connections have an A- or Mu-law option for voice operation. The circuit-switched connections operate as 64-kbps clear channels when in the data mode.

TIMs are not hot-swappable. You must power off the router before the installing or removing the Avaya VoIP modules. Ensure that the Avaya VoIP modules are installed in the router chassis before booting up the system. |
