TIM510 DS1 Telephony Interface Module PIM

The TIM510 DS1 Telephony Interface Module PIM (Figure 44) terminates a T1 or E1 trunk. The TIM510 has a built-in Channel Service Unit (CSU) so an external CSU is not necessary. The CSU is only used for the T1 circuit.

The TIM510 PIM provides the following key features:

TIMs are not hot-swappable. You must power off the router before the installing or removing the Avaya VoIP modules. Ensure that the Avaya VoIP modules are installed in the router chassis before booting up the system.

TIM510 LEDs indicate link status and activity. Table 101 describes the meaning of the LEDs.

Either a test is being performed on the TIM510 via the Media Gateway Controller (MGC), or the TIM510 is performing a self-test upon initial insertion.

This LED indicates whether the link to the Central Office (CO) is up (equivalent to the TN464F circuit pack Status 3 GREEN LED).

The physical connection is up.
